Moules-frites in Richmond!

Tuesday 21st July 2015
Join us for an exploration of the Belgian classic moules-frites through the wonderful world of Spring Bay mussels from Tasmania accompanied by Mountain Goat Beers from right here in Richmond!

Spring Bay Seafoods produce some of the finest Blue Mussels in Australia, framing them suspended on long lines at depths of up to 35 metres and in a constant current of between 1–3 knots. They are of premium quality because in Tasmania we are fortunate to have some of the purest, coldest water in the world. Mountain Goat have collected a swag of awards over the years for their tasty, all natural ales. At Richmond Oysters, we have their fabulous Steam Ale and Indian Pale Ale on tap. For this night, we'll be opening up a few extra ones too!

Our four course chowder night starts with the house favourite recipe rich with seafood marinara, before embarking on a journey through the New England classic clam chowder, a sweet corn and crab chowder and concluding with a chunky Canadian scallop and pea chowder.

Enjoy with warm crusty bread & butter, with any luck Melbourne will even offer us a cold rainy night to enhance every blissful mouthful!

Everybody enjoys a good story, and when it comes to our food too often the story is hidden or hard to find. We'd like to share with you the story of our favourite snapper fishermen out of the small fishing village of Leigh in New Zealand. Over several courses of the freshest snapper available on the market, sustainably caught by our friendly cousins in the waters off the north island, experience some of the best the ocean has to offer!
